About Biblical Trauma Healing
Biblical Trauma Healing is a Christ-centered ministry devoted to restoring individuals impacted by trauma through the healing power of Jesus Christ. Our mission is to bring biblical truth, trauma-informed understanding, and Spirit-led practice together in a way that honors both God’s Word and God’s design for the human body, brain, and soul.
This work is led through the combined calling and expertise of Dr. James Ward Hudson and Robin Ludwig, whose shared backgrounds in military service, counseling, education, and trauma recovery create a uniquely integrated approach to healing.
Dr. James Ward Hudson
Dr. James Ward Hudson is a distinguished counselor, educator, supervisor, author, and United States Air Force veteran with decades of service in the mental health profession. His work has been especially impactful in the areas of veteran care, first responder counseling, and counselor education.
Dr. Hudson’s academic and professional journey includes extensive training in psychology and counseling, equipping him to address complex mental health challenges such as PTSD, depression, anxiety, and substance use. His military service profoundly shaped his understanding of trauma and informs his compassionate, culturally competent approach to care.
As a counseling supervisor, Dr. Hudson has dedicated himself to mentoring and developing future mental health professionals. He is deeply committed to preparing counselors to navigate the unique challenges faced by individuals in high-stress and trauma-exposed environments, particularly within military and first responder populations. His supervisory work emphasizes ethical practice, clinical excellence, and thoughtful integration of evidence-based approaches.
Dr. Hudson is also an accomplished author and researcher. His writings draw from both clinical expertise and lived experience, offering practical insights into therapeutic methods, program development, and effective care for trauma-impacted populations. Through research, teaching, and public speaking, he advocates for accessible, competent, and stigma-free mental health care.
Beyond academia and clinical practice, Dr. Hudson remains actively engaged in community outreach, conferences, and professional training. His work continues to shape the counseling field by fostering excellence, integrity, and compassion in those who serve others.
Robin Ludwig
Robin Ludwig is a certified trauma coach, best-selling Christian author, Bible teacher, podcaster, and retired United States Air Force First Sergeant. She is also Dr. Hudson’s daughter. Her calling is to equip believers to experience biblical trauma healing through Jesus Christ and to walk in lasting freedom.
Robin partners closely with the Holy Spirit to cultivate Christ-centered healing through books, podcasts, in-person teaching, and trauma-informed ministry spaces. She believes with her whole heart that freedom is your birthright and victory is your portion. One of the most powerful healing tools God gives His people is the ability to hear His voice and receive His truth about who they are.
Her ministry centers on biblical trauma healing—helping wounded hearts and overwhelmed nervous systems come back into alignment with God’s original design. Drawing from both lived experience and professional training, Robin helps individuals understand how trauma impacts the body, brain, and spirit, and how Jesus restores what trauma disrupts.
Robin’s journey has taken her from combat boots to prayer cabins. She has led military teams through humanitarian, medical, and disaster relief missions, and now creates trauma-informed, Spirit-led environments for healing in homes, churches, retreats, and faith communities. Whether teaching trauma healing to soldiers or civilians, speaking Scripture to dismantle fear and lies, or gently guiding believers into the peace of God, her passion remains the same: to see chains fall and lives restored to wholeness.
In her work, Robin integrates Scripture-based practices supported by neuroscience, teaching simple, biblically grounded tools that help regulate the nervous system, calm stress responses, tone the vagal nerve, and rebuild emotional resilience. She also creates space for prophetic encouragement, recognizing that when God speaks truth over a person’s identity, trauma often loses its grip at the root.
Robin emphasizes that healing is meant to be walked out in community, not isolation. Trauma isolates, but healing multiplies in the safety of the Body of Christ. She often points to Jesus’ words at the tomb of Lazarus—“Take off the grave clothes and let him go”—as a picture of biblical trauma healing. Together, believers come alongside one another to gently remove fear, shame, and sorrow through love, truth, and compassion.
When she is not writing or teaching, Robin is homeschooling her two adventurous sons, traveling with her husband, and enjoying tea and dark chocolate. As a family, they rest and reset in a prayer cabin tucked deep in the East Texas woods, slowing down to breathe deeply and listen to the heart of God.
Our Shared Vision
Together, Dr. Hudson and Robin Ludwig bring a complementary partnership to Biblical Trauma Healing—uniting biblical truth, clinical wisdom, neuroscience, prophetic insight, and community-based restoration. This ministry honors both evidence-based understanding and the transforming power of the Holy Spirit, offering a holistic approach to healing that restores peace, identity, and wholeness.
Whether you are seeking healing for yourself, tools for ministry, or guidance grounded in both Scripture and wisdom, Biblical Trauma Healing exists to walk with you on the journey toward freedom in Christ.
